Great training for new leaders: Colorado Institute for Leadership Training (CILT)
The Colorado Institute for Leadership Training is now accepting Applications for the CILT Class of 2010.
The Colorado Institute for Leadership Training (CILT) brings together emerging progressive leaders from the private, non-profit, and public sectors to travel the state of Colorado, build their leadership skills and learn about the issues, communities, and the people of this great state. CILT 2010 will cover pressing issues in Colorado such as Education, Health Care Reform, Criminal Justice Issues, Religion and Politics, Water and Sustainability as well as helping students better understand the issues of the western slope and the eastern plains. The class involves ten weekends between January and June in communities throughout Colorado.
Not only does the Colorado Institute for Leadership Training offer class members access to experts on a wide-variety of Colorado-specific issues, but it also provides an excellent opportunity to network with other members of our community and develop long-lasting friendships and professional relationships with class members and alumni.
CILT recognizes that leadership can take many forms. CILT has graduated over 500 engaged citizens from our leadership training program. These alumni have gone on to serve as congresswomen, state treasurers, state legislators, city council members, mayors, county chairs, county commissioners, school board members, sheriffs and campaign managers, county party officers and activists. We define politics, however, as more than the art of getting elected to office. Other alumni have chosen to become more active in policy advocacy, community advocacy, their church, their neighborhood, their service organization, or their community.
For more information about CILT, including the 2010 schedule and associated costs please refer to the attached application, to our website at www.ciltonline.org, or contact Laura Embleton at cilt@comcast.net.
The final deadline for applications is October 30, 2009. Applications can be completed online or forwarded to Laura Embleton at cilt@comcast.net.
