Rally Guide and U.S. Reps.' Events
Dear Denver Dems and Friends,
There has been a great deal of confusion and misinformation surrounding the national debate over health insurance reform. Would you be surprised to learn that a full 77% of Americans support having the choice of a public option in health insurance? I know I was surprised, pleasantly! (read the entire article…you may also be surprised by the sly way NBC changed their own poll to move the results away from reform!).
The radical right, though, has dominated media coverage and is trying to create the illusion that Americans are opposed to reform. We are losing the message battle! I mean we WERE losing the message battle. We Dems have begun to fight for the minds and hearts of the American public. One way we are doing this is by out numbering the anti-reformers at public events and we need your help. We need your presence at our legislators’ events this August and September; we need you to stand with us to help spread a message of hope that the media will not be able to ignore.
Below is a list of town halls and other events where we can have a visible impact. Please attend one (or many); I have added six simple steps to rallying. The tide is turning, we will get the reform we want if we work for it! Join us!
Guide to Rallying for Dems
1) Show up early
2) Bring positive signs (“Single Payer – Yes”, “Thank you Rep. ______”, “More Choice = Less Cost”, etc.)
3) Be courteous, smile, step away from any heated arguments
4) Stay in groups of at least two
5) Wear your Obama, Dem, Health care gear
6) Prepare to be energized!!
