Block-by-Block for Barack, Health Care Canvassing with Rep. Daniel Kagan and HD3 Activists
His Town Hall in Grand Junction woke up a lot of people on the periphery, so let's keep the momentum going and go door-to-door sharing the facts about reform. It's a key time to counteract the blatant misrepresentations flying around out there with some simple, clear truths about Health Care Reform.
Our grassroots efforts helped elect Obama as President, and our efforts now can help change minds, a house at a time, a block at a time.
Representative Daniel Kagan (House District 3) will be joining us and speaking briefly at the beginning of the event. He will have his new legislative update literature with him, and If you'd like to bring along his literature, it's a good opportunity to introduce our new State House Representative to the District.
We'll meet in the DU area and use Owen Perkins' home as a staging area. If you've got a neighborhood or precinct you'd particularly like to walk, make a note of it with your RSVP and we'll get you a custom-made walk list.
Everyone is welcome. The event is for anyone who wants to play a part in helping to inform our community, to make our voices heard, to encourage others to express their support, and ultimately to convince Congress that we meant it when we said we were ready for change last November.
Our focus will be on canvassing, knocking on doors and talking to folks in the neighborhood face-to-face, but if there is interest in writing letters-to-the-editors, that would be another valuable contribution.
We'll meet at 10 a.m. before heading off in different directions, then reconvening for the best pizza in the precinct! If you need to come later, we can start a second shift around 12:30. Feel free to e-mail owenperk@aol.com to RSVP directly. The event is also listed on the Organizing for America web site, and it would be helpful to RSVP there if you plan to attend.
Thanks!
