Saturday, August 22nd Community Service Project

Please Mark Your Calendars!

WHEN: Saturday, August 22nd -- 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.  (Rain date:  August 29th)

WHERE:  Instead of our regular August meeting we are planning a community service project for Holistic Community Living at 3001 So. Dexter Way.

Holistic Community Living is a not-for-profit organization formed to operate and teach others to operate holistic assisted living homes where people can remain in their community when they can no longer live in their own home.

Their first home in University Hills will be a community center of intergenerational community living.  The elders in the home will have opportunity to interact with neighbors and students of nearby schools.

There will be opportunities for volunteerism and classes to help the neighbors understand and deal with the issues of aging they face in their family and community.  For more information visit  www.HolisticCommunityLiving.com

TASKS:
We will be doing some landscaping work:  removing bushes; cleaning up in the back yard; and  re-planting in the cleared areas.  (Note:  Please bring gardening tools if you can.)

BONUS:   David Lazaroff. President of Holistic Community Living, will give tours of the building and share  his plans for the reconstruction of the interior of the building.  And, refreshments will include cool drinks and power bars to keep us hydrated and energrized.

If you're interested in volunteering, please contact Ann Meredyth at ameredyth@gmail.com. For more information on the landscaping project, please contact David Lazaroff at David@holistic.com or by phone at 303-236-9186 (work)
or 720-218-3254 (cell).

We hope to see you there!
