Sloan's Lake Neighborhood Green-Up
The Sloan’s Lake Neighborhood is teaming up with the Mayor’s Office and Greenprint Denver to bring energy efficiency, weatherization upgrades, and an overall push to help ‘green up’ our neighborhood. The project is an exciting community effort that will save us money on utility bills, provide free weatherization assistance for income qualified households, and have an immediate impact on our Neighborhood Carbon Footprint.
The “Blitz” will take place on Saturday August 15 throughout the entire Sloan's Lake neighborhood. Volunteers and residents will be canvassing door-to-door to install a free CFL porch light bulb, sign you up for curbside recycling, help you reduce your junk mail, give you a free reusable bag to help eliminate plastic bags, offer a free street tree, sign those interested up for a subsidized home energy audit, enroll residents in the graffiti removal program, and other actions that help the neighborhood and the planet.
The City of Denver has a Climate Action Agenda with a goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 10 percent by 2012. We can do our part for Denver to help reach that goal, PLUS make improvements to the quality of life for each and every one of us.
It’s easy, it saves money, and it will enhance our neighborhood.
