Interfaith Prayer Service and Peaceful Demonstration for Immigration Reform - Please participate!

Cecilia Flores, HD2B Co-captain, reports:
On Monday, May 12, I attended the prayer service and demonstration for those imprisoned at the INS Detention Center on 36th Avenue and Peoria in Aurora (turn west onto 36th). The building is totally non-descript -- one would think it is a warehouse except for the barb wire and the construction -- they are making it bigger! There were maybe 15 of us gathered together in solidarity with our immigrant sisters and brothers. A police force was present, I think they out numbered us -- I don't know what they thought we all were going to do. We were very prayerful and respectful in our gathering.
I plan to go the first of each month to voice what they cannot do behind the walls of the Detention Center. I invite you to come with me on
Monday June 1, July 6, August 3, September 7 and October 5 at 6 P.M.
to be with those who have no voice but us.
Remember to bring a hat (I forgot mine, won't do that again), water (though some was provided on the 12th),
your Peacefulness
and if you can -- carpool together.
