W. Douglas Williams, Candidate for State Senator, Senate District 31

Dear Vacancy Committee Member,
I come late to the dance, but I am a candidate for Senate District 31 and I want your serious consideration to be your next Senator.
I am an expert on nothing, but I have the education, the intelligence, the talent, the experience and the passion to do a hell of a job for you in the Colorado Senate. As I watched seven good people seek your vote Saturday, May 2nd; it struck me that there was something missing "ME".
Everyone seemed to be an expert on something, but I didn't hear or see evidence of critical thinking and problem solving that is necessary to the job. Nor did I see a high level of communication skills or know that I was looking at a top negotiator who could stand up to Republican demagoguery and beat them at this game. The Senate needs someone who will be well liked (who can put aside their ego) and provide a level of political craft that wasn't there. I've got the "chops" to do this.
Ever since the political leaders of Texas asked me to run against Tom Delay in his first race for Congress and I got the highest percentage of non-incumbent Democratic votes in the history of the state (I beat him in seven debates); I've learned to take care with your friends and make friends with your enemies in order to get things DONE (Tom and I remained friends for 27 years).
GIVE ME A SHOT AND I'LL MAKE YOU PROUD.
Thanks for your consideration,
W. DOUGLAS WILLIAMS
