Volunteer to be part of the Volunteer Committee

The volunteer committee is looking for 4 to 5 people to head up the volunteer committee for the Democratic Party of Denver. The goal of the volunteer committee is place all volunteers in a meaningful job or task and to connect them with an event planner, a House Captain or Co-Captain, or a Captain at Large that needs help to accomplish an organizing task. Our prime job is to match people with needs. We need to know what work needs to be done by the party, who is in leading that work done, and matching volunteers to the work and leaders.

The volunteer committee will be led by the Captain at Large (CAL) for volunteers. In addition it would be good to have the following people:
·         Next in charge: This person works directly with the CAL and steps in to lead the group if the CAL is out of town or otherwise absent. The next in charge person will take major responsibility for directing half of the overall work team.
 
·         Communications and publicity: Will be in charge of recruiting new volunteers and publicizing opportunities and documenting events that have happened. It is this person to think “outside of the box” and find non-utilized ways to reach out to Democrats and the public in new and dynamic ways.
 
·         Web Portal and Email communication: Be responsible for publicizing volunteer opportunities on the web and helping to develop methods for tracking sign ups. Will also use the web to do target email to recruit people with specific skills for specific tasks. This person will be in charge of communicating with those on our volunteer list.
 
·         Liaison with Captains at Large and House Captains: This person will be charged with knowing what activities the Captains at Large or House Captains have planned and what the volunteer needs are for any activity and campaign. This person will follow up with all volunteers assigned by the committee to any of those identified tasks.
