This Saturday (1/21/12) we are having a joint meeting of Democrats from old HD-3 and the new HD-2. We look forward to your help as we kick-off 2012 and set out to regain the State House, hold the Senate, re-elect Representative DeGette and help send President Obama back to the White House.
Tentative Agenda:
- Review of the re-organization process
- An update on local 2012 state legislative races
- Review of the opening of the legislative session
- Planning for caucuses and the 2012 campaign
As usual, we will have coffee and refreshments for all who join us.

House District 2 "Hello/Goodbye" Pot Luck

Please join us for a pot-luck social event to celebrate House District 2 activists and representatives, and activists from neighboring districts who will be reorganized into new House Districts this winter. Hello/Goodbye/Hello! Join us to party with activists, precinct committee people, district officers and elected officials from HD 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 - neighboring districts that will be sharing and trading talents and experience in the new year. Come celebrate all who are leaving HD2 to work in other districts, and all who will be joining us in our new HD2.

Join me for a spirited, interactive discussion about possible legislation I will introduce in the 2012 session of the Colorado General Assembly. I’ll share information about bills I am already working on and get input from constituents during this critical development phase of proposed legislation. I’ll be especially interested in hearing your own ideas for potential legislation we can take on together when the session opens in January. I know from my own experience as both a citizen activist and a state senator just how important your input is during this key stage of crafting the very bills we’ll bring to the Capitol on their way to becoming law.
- Hear about legislation I plan to introduce in 2012
- Share your ideas about important legislation you’d like to see passed
- Brainstorm with neighbors and activists about issues of special concern to residents of Senate District 32 in Denver
- Strategize for ways to help get legislators supporting bills that matter to you
- Collect resources and learn ways to follow through with your elected officials and be sure that you have a voice in the decisions made at the Colorado State Capitol

HD2 Voter Registration // Latino Initiative

VOTER REGISTRATION, LATINO INITIATIVE: On July 23rd, a team of HD2 activists will be at the Avanza Supermarket to register new voters, update existing voting records, and talking to the local community. We will also be having a cadre of Dream Act activists helping us during this Voter Registration drive. A key objective will be to contact the young Latino’s who will be turning 18 before the cutoff date to vote in the November 2012 elections. We will be at the Avanza Supermarket (1320 S Federal Blvd at Louisiana & Federal) from 10 am to noon. If you would like to help, contact Jason Justice at captainhd2b@denverdemocrats.net. HD2 Canvass - Come Walk a Precinct!

PRECINCT WALKING: On July 12th, a team of HD2 activists will be walking HD2 Precincts 227, 234, and 235. We will be registering new voters, updating voting records for returning voters, and looking for like-minded volunteers to become Precinct Committee Persons (PCPs) in their precinct. All three of these precincts have two PCP openings. We will also be sharing our vision to elect more Democrats to office at all three levels, federal, state and local. Anyone interested in joining us should meet with us at the King Soopers (1525 W Florida at Sheridan & Florida) at 4:55 pm on Tuesday, July 12th. We will be sharing a spicy repast at ‘The Hole in the Wall – Yummy Food and Drink’ spot on Federal after our Precinct Walk is
complete.
