County Reorganization - February 8

As mandated by state law and Colorado Democratic Party Rules, the Denver Democratic Central Committee will meet on Sunday, February 8th, 2009 for the purpose of electing new officers. Check-in will start at 1:30 p.m, and the meeting will be gaveled to order at 2:00 p.m.

Attendance by all Central Committee members is encouraged (Precinct Committee Persons or "PCPs", House District officers, House Sub-District officers, and Denver elected officials). While only members of the Central Committee (or members with a proxy*) may vote, everyone is welcome to attend and observe.

 
 
The Democratic Party of Denver has four (4) elected officers, and here are the current candidates:
 
                           Chair:    Cindy Lowery
 
                   Vice Chair:    Jennifer Jacobson
 
                   Treasurer:      Ed Hall
                                         Yong-He Bae
 
                   Secretary:     Owen Perkins
                                         Dan Willis
 
We will also be selecting members to serve on the State Executive Committee, State Central Committee, CD1 Central Committee, and State Platform Committee.
 
The general meeting will be immediately followed by Senate and House District elections of Chairs, Vice-Chairs, and Secretaries (these folks run the 2010 Assemblies for their districts)....
 
....followed by House Sub-District meetings to elect sub-district Captains and Co-Captains (these folks do the day-to-day operations of their sub-districts and serve on the County Executive Committee), and a discussion as to joining the various committees such as Fundraising, Outreach and Diversity, Issues and Platform, and Technology.
