This session will explore ways in which famiiles, community organizations, and churches can provide stronger systems of support for African American students.  there will be information from DPS and community resources that provide academic support, homework assistance, and enrichment programs.  Parents will also learn more about public school options and how to more effectively become informed and involved in their child's educational experience.  A portion of this session will be devoted to a "speak out" where students, parents and community members may share their concerns about the education of African American students in Denver and the state.
