Mail Ballot Election
The August 10, 2010 Primary Election in Denver will be a mail ballot election. This decision was made following a public hearing and public comment period. Voters do not need to request a mail ballot for this election. Ballots will be mailed automatically to all qualified party-affiliated voters in approximately the third week of July.

Ballot Content
In order to vote for a party's candidates, you must be registered with that party. Unaffiliated voters will not be mailed a ballot (but see the next paragraph, below). Republicans will receive a ballot with Republican candidates. Democrats will receive a ballot with Democratic candidates. Libertarians will receive a ballot with Libertarian candidates.

Deadline to Register
The deadline to register to vote for the Primary Election is July 12. Colorado law allows unaffiliated registered voters to affiliate with a party as late as Election Day in order to vote for that party's candidates. However, voters who are already affiliated with a party and wish to withdraw or change that affiliation must do so by July 12.2010.
