Communication Specialists - Volunteers Needed

Title:   Communications Specialist/Team Member
Duties: Help strengthen Democratic Party communications, both internally and externally. Work with House District leadership, Committee leaders, or Special Projects leaders to address their communication needs. There are multiple areas in need of help on a communications front, and volunteers could focus on one of the following areas:
 
·         Follow and document newsworthy developments with elected officials in a specific district
·         Follow and document notable developments and events in a specific community or district
·         Follow specific campaigns and races leading up to elections

            ·         Follow and document community service projects

·         Follow and document critical legislative issues of interest to Denver Dems
·         Spread the word about special events and projects sponsored by Denver Dems
·         Help gather and create content for the Denver Dems website
·         Help draft press releases to share the good work going on in the Denver Dems
 
Skills/characteristics:
 
·         Good writing skills. 
·         Any communications experience is helpful (but not required), including familiarity with media relations and press releases.
·         Basic internet navigation skills is helpful.
·         Familiarity with web-editing is helpful, but not necessary. 
·         Photo/video skills are helpful, but not necessary.
·         Self-motivated, good organizational skills.
