Cindy is originally from St. Louis, Missouri, and moved to Denver directly after law school.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Saint Louis University, and a Juris Doctorate from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.  Since moving to Colorado, Cindy has developed her law practice, is a member of the Westwood Paralegal Program Advisory Committee, and has written courses for online paralegal training classes.

In addition to her legal work and political activities, Cindy sits on the Board of Directors for Community Resources, Inc. and Summer Scholars, and is a founding member of the White House Project’s Colorado Leadership Council.  She has been an advocate of youth involvement in the political process, and volunteered for pro-choice organizations, the Rape Assistance and Awareness Program, and the Denver Hospice, and has been a mentor at Manual High School.  

Cindy graduated from the 20 year strong Colorado Institute for Leadership Training (CILT) in 2004, and in 2005 completed the advanced class.  She was appointed to the Board of Directors in 2009, and currently serves as its President.  Cindy is also a graduate of the White House Project’s Go Run Lead Program and the Bighorn Leadership Development Health Care Policy Program.   

Before becoming Chair of the Democratic Party of Denver twice, Cindy volunteered as a Finance Chair and Co-Captain in House District 8A, as the GOTV Coordinator and the Annual Dinner Co-Chair for the Democratic Party of Denver in 2006, and was twice elected President of the Denver Young Democrats.  After being a primary candidate for State Representative in 2008 in House District 8, Cindy served as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Democratic Party of Denver.  In 2008, Cindy received the Colorado Active Young Democrat of the Year and the CILT Outstanding Community Volunteer Awards. 

In September 2010, Cindy married Adam Graber, a good Democrat from Iowa, who moved for Cindy from Arapahoe County to Denver.  They have three cats and a dog and live in Park Hill.
